Dear Family and Friends,
I have been honored with the request to write an orchestral arrangement for Miss Patti Labelle's performance at the National Cathedral in Washington DC, the evening of September 11, 2011.
“A Concert for Hope”, the capstone of the weekend of tribute and remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001 will include Miss LaBelle's performance of “2 Steps Away”, written by my son, Jon DeLise. Miss LaBelle will be accompanied in her performance by the United States Marine Orchestra with Jon playing guitar.
It is my most sincere hope that the prayers, readings, performances, and words spoken during this and the weekend's other events will further our Nation's healing from the tragic attacks that occurred ten years ago and the wars that have since ensued.
